The static correction is similar to a tap, not a shock. We start at the lowest level (most dogs barely notice it) and only increase if needed. We'll let you feel it on your hand first so you know exactly what your dog experiences.
Yes. Electric dog fence, hidden fence, in-ground fence, and invisible fence all describe the same system: a buried boundary wire and a receiver collar. Invisible Fence® is also a brand name; we install and service Pet Stop® equipment.
The system works year-round, rain or snow. We also install in winter when ground conditions allow. Frozen ground can sometimes delay scheduling, but the fence itself doesn't care about the weather.
With our battery backup option, the system keeps running for 8–24 hours without power. And because your dog learned the boundary through training, most dogs respect it even if the system is off.
In 16 years and nearly 2,000 dogs, we've only had 5 we couldn't contain. We have specific settings for determined dogs: Huskies, Great Pyrenees, and high-prey-drive breeds included.
Most dogs learn the boundary in 7-10 days with short daily sessions. We walk you through the entire GentleSteps™ training plan on install day and support you by phone throughout.
GentleSteps™ starts at barely perceptible levels, just a tickle. If your dog shows any sign of stress, we adjust. The method builds confidence through repetition and positive reinforcement, not fear. For sensitive dogs, the initial sessions are done with no correction. We only use the beep and rewards to gently teach your dog the basics.
